Dental Extractions

Extractions are a treatment option any time a tooth is a source of pain or infection or has lost 40% or more of its supporting structures. Extractions can range from small single rooted teeth up to large teeth with three roots. More difficult extractions are called surgical extractions and require creation of a flap and removal of some surrounding bone that holds the tooth in place. The flap is then sutured in place to close the extraction site. With all extractions we do regional nerve blocks to improve pain management and reduce the amount of anesthetic drugs required. Our Board Certified Veterinary Dentist is experienced with performing all types of extractions which allows the procedure to be done with the least amount of trauma and pain. Minimizing pain and trauma to the tissues speeds healing time and helps our animal companions more quickly get back to doing the activities they love.
